The seller I purchased it from cleaned up the mangled edges and surfaces

when glass ampules were standardized for dosage control and portability

but a bit of handwriting in the opening pages dates it to the 1890s

surrounded by what looks to be the pelvic bone of a small or medium sized animal

It is in good condition with a beautiful patina on the metal

Front cover fully detached but present with the lot. Heavy wear to edges of covers and spine. Foxing to pages throughout.
