Head Light Switch: 78-82 Corvette This is for the 4New Head light switch as shown just for the 78 82 Model Corvette. The way you remove the knob and shaft is to depress the small sprung button on the bottom of the switch and give the shaft a gentle outward pull.. it will generally release a U type captive slot on the end of the shaft inside the switch and allow it to slide out. Same goes for putting it back in.
