The remaining historic staining and varnish have given these classic chairs an interesting patina and colouring - see close-up photos

The original black paint is in good order

Old repairs to one arm support and I reset/strengthened the leg joints with dowels and hide glue to replace the modern screws that had been used

Circus - no screws or nailsA good, heavy, early 20th century brass standard lamp, with adjustable angle bulb holder, telescopic top half (see photos) and dolphin like motif at the top. Comes with a very pretty shade that looks original. Very good condition, just the expected wear and tear for its age. The shade could possibly do with a gentle clean, but looks perfectly at home as is. Works but not PAT tested. (I can rewire the lamp and get it professionally PAT tested before
