The base of this table lamp is a genuine Bakelite 'Ormond' electric handheld hairdryer, made in England by the Ormond Engineering Company Ltd. between 1935 and 1955. It's been set on a heavy black Bakelite base with large brass dome nuts and rubber feet solid, considered, and beautifully period. A dimmer switch with a small red LED so you can find it in
