Description

115 achieved for ‘Bal Tabarin’ (51cm x 65cm) in 2007

you’ll see a lady picking flowers by the river and holding a posy

with a paper heart inside

An early 20th-century portrait of a woman wearing a large pendant and chain with her hair in fashionable waves

who encouraged him to paint ‘en plein air’

Dutch School Landscape With Farmhouse Places 115 achieved for ‘Bal Tabarin’A light filled summertime landscape depicting a woman feeding chickens outside a small farmhouse. The paint is applied with daubs from a broad brush and perhaps the artist worked en plein air. We particularly love the opening on the right hand side, which provides a view across to a distant woodland. The painting is signed GJ Delfgaauw in the lower right, so its probably by a follower of Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw (1882 1947). Medium: Oil on
