Grand Tour Bronze Model Of Colonne Vendome (Vendome Column), c.1860 18th Century Length (spout to handle): 15cmA stunning and well patinated bronze Grand Tour model of Colonne Vendome, the famous Paris monument modelled on Trajan's column in Rome erected by Napoleon I in 1810 to commemorate the Battle of Austerlitz. This model is extremely well cast with Napoleon stood upon a dome top surrounded by a balustrade, atop a fine spiralling relief scene of Trajan's column, all above a finely balustraded black marble base. There is one small eagle missing to the rear
