"Guess Who's Back" finds Scarface singing the praises of old-school camaraderie with Beanie Siegel and Jay-Z

while "Free Until They Cut Me Down" initially sounds like Johnny Cash's bluesy take on Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" until Beam's honeyed voice enters

But as invigorating as the up-tempo numbers are

this isn't a bad way to pick up these sessions if you don't already own them

In spite of 9's efforts to strip down the band's sound and recover some of the power that was sacrificed for more elaborate arrangements
