Herring's Pippin Size:MM106 Legend has it that aFirst recorded in 1908, Herring's Pippin seems to have been raised by a Mr Herring of Lincoln, Herring's Pippin is a large, pale green apple with a bright and deep red flush. The apples have creamy, white flesh, and are juicy with a good aromatic flavour. It's a very vigorous tree and quite hardy, that does well in heavier soils. It's also resistant to scab. The fruit is ready around early September.
