This hanging is a version of an Indian chintz which was strongly influenced by the engraved ornament of French court designer Jean Brain 1638 1711, chief designer to the court of Louis XIV, the Sun King. His elaborate architectural and decorative designs were highly influential. The bold architectural strap work design of this hanging decorated with floral
