Brilliant quality, unmounted mint with full original gum. Attractive and very fine pictorial stamps. The 4c depicts Mount Kinabalu and the 8c a typical Borneo scene. The Stanley Gibbons catalogue value is 260+. Japanese forces first landed in North Borneo on 15 December 1941. By 19 January 1942, the whole of North Borneo had been occupied.
