The perfect faded pink silk with gold gilt thread embroidery and gold metal sequins. Dating from the 18th century this is as amazing survivor from Ottoman Turkey. Originally intended as a ceremonial cover, possibly for a wedding or similar celebration. Covered in fine embroidery worked in gold gilt thread, with bows and ribboning, stalks of wheat meandering around a central medallion. A wonderful piece the likes of which you only find
