The only way to get a V-UNION Pokemon out is to assemble all four cards in your discard pile , where they can then enter play as one combined piece
I think that this card is a serious contender even for some cEDH decks
Its a powerful tool used by its creators, Wizards of the Coast (WotC), to shape a cards potential power, its complexity, its role in gameplay, and, most compellingly for us at Beckett, its market value and enduring legacy
The reason I play some mix of counters in this build is because not only are cards like The Abyss devastating against you, but sometimes the best route to victory is to cast one or two monsters and then simply counter the first removal spell, and your opponent will be dead in a few turns
The magic of Kaalia is that commanding dragons is just one of its part-time jobs, with angel commander and demon commander being the other two and nearly every Magic set features some new dragon, demon, or angel, so this amazing Mardu card always has fresh new toys to play with, and its just as threatening now as it was in the early days of EDH
