Play fetch lands, cheap spells, and a little self-mill like Thought Scour, and youll have no trouble casting Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time for 1 or 2 mana
Blasphemous Edict Paying 5 mana in black to cast Blasphemous Edict and destroy all creatures is very strong, to the point of seeing Constructed play in many formats
Sorcery speed is worth it here, as its the perfect kind of smoothing card, or card that lets you take advantage of someone elses engine piece while refilling your hand
It does a good impression of FOW in formats where that card isn't legal, and it sits side-by-side with the all-timer free counterspell in formats where both co-exist
Cant say I disagree: other commanders do the massively pump a single creature better (Xenagos, God of Revels for one), and the go-tall competes with the innate desire to go-wide
