As you increase your faerie count this gets better and better as a counterspell but the card should not really be included in you counter magic as a mystic snake would

My opinion did slightly change on Cecil, Dark Knight because I dont have a Deaths Shadow archetype in my cube (which is hard to do in singleton) but someone did draft a pretty sweet deck that technically went undefeated in the swiss rounds (going 3-0) but lost to me, (who sat out since we had an odd number of drafters - I ended up going 2-0 from playing that player and someone else.) There was Accelerated Blue and the German Dragon in Standard, Suicide Brown and Iron Giant in Extended, good old Yawgmoth's Bargain in just about everything that allowed it, and then a lot of descendants of those initial Tinker decks that continued to get refined and grow in power until they took over Extended in New Orleans
