Do they really want this thing in Standard

This is useful if you want to make sure you can always cast your spells, but also makes otherwise pricey cards like Oonas Grace - which has retrace, allowing you to cast it from the graveyard if you discard a land card - infinitely more valuable

Un- booster sets have most of their Limited play happen in one season, when the set comes out, which would have made this card mostly act in one way

Whenever a card would be put into your graveyard from the battlefield, exile it instead
