For me, the tipping point is in the card type creatures are just much better than sorceries, adding the utility of attacking and blocking, paying sacrifice and convoke costs and everything else you need a body for in Magic
Weve seen some really interesting creatures in Wilds of Eldraine that seem to mirror this philosophy
If WotC had done better, they'd have the flavor of some blue trickster type creatures (you know, Faeries) except be red green with lots of kinds of evasion abilities and weird like combat tricks
