Their combined effects (Ruddy Rose Tributes herself to add a Black Rose to the hand and puts a Plant monster on top of the deck before Normal Summoning Black Rose, who can then draw that card) allow them to combo out the materials for a quick Synchro Summon
When you have cards like Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice or Legacy of Destructions new Ritual monster, Saffira, Divine Dragon of the Voiceless Voice, thats not a bad thing - particularly considering Skull Guardian's negation and destruction effect can stop a flourishing combo in its tracks.
