Its kind of one-mana instant-speed removal for decks that dont go very wide, but its also a way to protect your creature from a board wipe or tap a summoning sick creature

Fist of Flame is an excellent addition to an Izzet prowess deck: For two mana you get to draw a card and give one creature +1/+0 for each card you've drawn that turn

Of course, if were playing full-on Eldrazi Aggro, this is one of the better ones to be playing in general
