The card is an excellent enabler for Equipment strategies that bypasses equip costs, and already has a home in Modern Hammer Time decks - but Final Fantasy has added such a slew of new cards that support Equipment that not only is it seeing extra play in Commander, it may be part of an up and coming Pioneer deck
Ever since M13 rotated out and took with it the Rootbound Crag cycle, which Theros replaced with Temples, Standard has been heavily biased against multicolored aggressive decks simply because the available mana wasnt good enough to support them
Honorable Mentions Cards like Blood Artist, Grave Pact, or Zulaport Cutthroat are the backbone of sacrifice decks or aristocrats decks because these decks make creatures die, and you want to profit from that
And unless you're playing very high-powered, a cost reducer and a mana dork are probably much the same on turn two
Its a slow win, but it is a win
