The same holds true against other creatures that can achieve a high toughness like Ledger Shredder, Murktide Regent, Tarmogoyf, Construct tokens and the like

There arent a lot of X-cost Instant and Sorceries available in this deck, but the first ability is much better than some of the weaker cards in the original list for this deck
