Mill is clearly an easier strategy in the smaller deck-sized formats like Draft , Sealed , and Standard , but with the right builds, mill commanders can still get the job done
This isnt THAT good with Engine since it only taps for 1 mana, but it does untap every iteration (unlike lands) and it lets you draw very aggressively and keep a fat mitt full of goods
Cyclonic Rift may have an expensive cost for its board wipe effect, but it costs very little colored mana, so Cyclonic Rift is easy to run in a deck that spreads itself thin among many colors or a deck that just splashes blue
Essentially, it can always be the best card on the board, unless that card is a land, which is highly unlikely outside of a few examples
For instance kyoko umemoto had a style that I loved, but totally not appropriate for fluffy/furry characters like flareon or arcanine imo, but arcanine placed higher due to better background
