Ive been pretty opinionated about this so far, but I could honestly go on for hours

1) because coming up with cards is very difficult and 2) because it stops all target removal, and board wipes from touching any of your artifacts Also, most players dont run exiles for artifacts, so it is very hard for your opponents to remove Darksteel Forge from the game

Magic needs more female voices on the scene and these are two things that both WOTC and Star City Games could quickly rectify
