That being said, items are clearly getting a further boost as a strategy in Into the Inklands, and this card only furthers the viability of that strategy
Alternatively, you can build around Nashi, which strikes me as much better
Just sacrifice a trivial merfolk token after each swing and you can easily complete a victory lap of the table (or set up a different win con) over several consecutive turns
