Five mana isnt a great rate for one counter on everything (I mean, thats what Cathars Crusade costs and you never need to pay anything beyond that for way more counters), but go-wide payoffs are limited outside of green, and if youre furiously flickering enough that you have an army of tokens, it wont take much for those tokens to become a real threat
